Head :
The modular femoral heads for hip prostheses are available in the
diameter of 22.2, 28, 32 and 36, and are provided with the standard
12/14 Morse taper.
Materials manufacturing range offers a full option of choices
completed by stainless steels like AISI316L, M30NW, by CoCrMo and by
ceramic with Biolox®Forte and as forefront of material science, the
innovative Biolox®Delta.
The femoral head tapers are produced with high-precision numerical
control machines, which have a very narrow tolerances as regards
conicity, roundness and straightness.
All these factors are simultaneously controlled through pneumatic
readings by appropriately designed sophisticated measuring
instruments so as to prevent any possible error which would cause
fretting, corrosion and, in the case of ceramic heads, failure.

A specific metal sleeve taper (Ti6Al4V) has been designed to be
interposed between an head of Biolox®Delta and a femoral coupling
cone, assuring a safe selflocking connection and between the stem
and the head.
The strength of Biolox®Delta allows the extra-length sizes for heads
of 28, 32, 36.
